The Hilinski laboratory focuses on eliminating synthetic considerations as a barrier to the discovery of new medicines. We are inspired by the vast diversity of structure, reactivity, and biological function of organic small molecules - and all three of these attributes are ingrained in our thinking about research projects. Our major goals are reduce the time, cost, waste, hazards, and environmental impact associated with the synthesis of new drugs, to render previously intractable structures synthetically accessible, and to create new molecules to study and improve human health.
